October 24, 2002, Companies developing cell phone technology for use on airplanes
People who talk on their cell phones everywhere else may soon be able to do so onboard airplanes. USA Today reports that at least two companies are developing technology that would allow passengers to use their cell phones without disrupting airplane electronics. One company says service on airplanes could be available in early 2004.
